EARTH DAY 2019 : Paghinuklog, pagpamalandong, ug pagpakabana sa putling KINAIYAHAN!

San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, the country’s renewable energy hub, unites on Earth Day, April 22, 2019 as the youth take a stand against dirty energy and demand a better future.

We say NO to coal.

We raise our voice against the filthy lies of “clean coal”. Coal-fired powerplants damage the only EARTH we have. Coal-fired powerplants deteriorates the only LIFE we have.

We unfold history as the young San Carlosenos form a human chain to represent their unity, screen the documentary film ‘Our Power’ to raise awareness, mobilize to make a noise and lobby an ordinance to demand for a coal-free city, against San Miguel Corporation’s proposed Coal-fired power plant.

We unfold history as the wisdom of the generation ignited the hopeful sentiments of the young people to safeguard Mother Earth from the fatal effects of Coal-fired power plants.

Break-free from fear and indifference! Join our call for a COAL-FREE NEGROS! It’s one precious opportunity you won’t miss to make HISTORY! Let’s stand and link our hands together in an unprecedented display of solidarity for love of Mother Earth and of generations yet to come – a cause bigger than ourselves!

San Carlos City’s Bishop, Gerardo Alminaza says, “Easter is about sharing the power of hope and love and celebrating the joy of discovering there’s strength in collective action. ‘If you want to walk fast, walk alone. If you want to walk far, walk together.’Ubuntu: ‘I AM because WE ARE!’ Vamos, San Carlos!”
