Existing policy mechanisms under the Renewable Energy (RE) Act enable bulk energy consumers to source renewable energy. In doing so, institutions are given options to transition to cleaner energy sources. For DYCI, GEOP opened an opportunity to transition to renewable energy. It became a way for the institution to explore different energy options, eventually leading to the securing of contracts under the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA).

350 Pilipinas held an interview with Dr. Yanga’s College Inc administrators to gather insights how enterprises and institutions can maximize the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), a policy under Republic Act No. 9513 (Renewable Energy Act of 2008)
