When we think about talking about the environment, I can still remember how boring and dull it is, but being able to participate in an event in which I felt like being myself is such a great idea. I watched as the other students participated, speaking out their emotions, their beliefs, their protests, while having a parade of protest about Climate Change.

I feel happy to watch passersby, just take out their phones and record us, in my mind, that way people who weren’t able to see us that day can see it on their social media platforms. And for those, what exactly is a climate strike? A Climate Strike happens as others gather around for the sake of limiting global warming, that continues and will forever affects us.

Global warming has since started, the aftermath of human’s activities now paying the price of slow but virus-like hardships; lack of resources, lack of places for animals to live, irregular climates and typhoons, intense heat waves and of course, the rise of sea level.

As we walked with the flags and placards of that says that the only planet we got is “Earth” and #FundOurFuture is a little reminder that if we don’t do anything now, soon the future we speak of will become the war that the next generations will be forced to experience.

We never wished for “that” future to happen, no one does, as we both know that that experience will only make life harder for a country like ours that is still surely not prepared for what’s to come. All we can do is to be much more prepared before climates become stronger and before there are more casualties.

And for now, all we can do is to participate and follow the regulations we were told to lessen the effects of global warming, although we can’t prevent global warming, we can slow down the process before it truly shows what it can really do to us. Let’s not wait until we can’t do anything to prevent it and can only try to survive through the day. Let’s thrive and make much better decisions that can not only benefit us but others as well. #FundOurFuture
