As a result of our Doodle Poll, our new general meeting day will be the first Wednesday of each Month at 6 pm.
We will send an agenda and the zoom link when we get closer to the next meeting date of November 1.
Julie Doerner will be facilitating an in-person workshop on Staying Engaged in the Midst of Climate Chaos. It is free but space is limited and will go to the first 10 people to sign up.
Julie is a licensed clinical social worker. She says: “I work with loss and grief in the areas of death and dying, long term or chronic illness, aging, loss of capacity, and life transitions. I weave in the use of visual arts, writing, mindfulness, and breath and body awareness to attend to emotional well being.” The workshop is sponsored by 350 Humboldt for its members and other climate activists who open themselves to the emotions that come with understanding the impacts of climate change and the frustrations of seeing such slow progress toward cutting emissions.
Place: The workshop will be held at the large meeting room in the McKinleyville Family Resource Center, 1615 Heartwood Drive, McKinleyville, CA 95519.
Date : Friday Oct. 20 from 1:00 – 2:30.

Finally, here is a link to a fun video of our last week “Burma Rise” Highway 101 sea level rise action by member Wendy Ring. As a musical background it includes lyrics she wrote and performs to “What do we do with the drunken sailor?”
