One of the first books that the 350 Humboldt book club read was All We Can Save, a compilation of essays and experiences by 60 women edited by Ayana Elizabeth Johnson and Katharine Wilkinson, both climate scientists. [If you are interested in reading All We Can Save, the authors have set up a program called Circles in which small groups read and discuss the book over a period of ten sessions.]

Ayana Elizabeth Johnson also created the above Venn diagram to help you find your place in the climate movement. The answer is different for every person. To find out more about this diagram you can go here. An interesting variation we have seen is to add a fourth circle that specifies “What you can be paid for,” if that is something you want to combine with your climate actions.

You can also take a look at Project Drawdown’s list of climate solutions for many ideas of how de-carbonization can be accomplished.

We hope you find this useful. If you’d like to talk with someone in 350 Humboldt about how to get involved, or if you would like to join the book club, please contact Deborah Dukes at [email protected].
