Join us in making a difference.
“Given the depth and scale of the crisis we are experiencing, we cannot postpone what is required of us: facing the climate emergency, the historic task of our time. We need to break the inertia of indifference and to collectively overcome the feeling of helplessness in the face of the magnitude of this problem.” – Marcel Taminato, Climate Resistance Handbook
Your engagement can significantly amplify our climate action efforts. With 350 Humboldt, you can make a difference in a way that best suits your lifestyle and interests. Every commitment, small or large, is vital to our mission of keeping fossil fuels in the ground and speeding up the transition to an equitable, low-carbon future. We offer a range of involvement opportunities.
Digital Activism
Digital members read our monthly LookOuts and action alerts for quick, easy ways to take action. For those who are new to climate activism or have limited time, a digital membership allows you to build your climate knowledge or make your voice heard via petitions, comments, and emails to decision makers.
Attend Meetings
Any person who has attended more than two general meetings in the previous six months can participate in decisions made at general meetings of 350 Humboldt if they choose. Members decide on group goals and campaigns, and can propose goals and campaigns to the steering committee.
Join A Committee
Much of our work is accomplished through committees. The degree of activity varies for each committee, depending on what is in play locally or statewide. Legislative, Offshore wind power, Biomass, Refrigerants, the Climate Action Plan, Action and Outreach, and Ag-Methane are current committees.
Join Steering Committee
After demonstrating a commitment to 350 Humboldt and our guiding principles, members are invited to join our Steering Committee where they help shape the broader goals and vision of the organization, facilitate monthly meetings, form committees, and approve campaigns. They also have the authority to approve statements made on behalf of the group to other organizations, representatives, and the media.
As a Steering Committee Member, your role is to:
