Earth Day is being recognized on Wednesday, but what does it say that we designate one day to recognize the place that gives us life, oxygen, gravity, the wonder of sunsets and rivers and streams and forests, soil that gives us food, birds and the millions of species, including ours, that are interdependent?

Pittsburghers have organized a week’s worth of activities to celebrate the Earth, which is a measure better than a day. You can learn more about it here.

But it is essential for us all to recognize that, until we are reverential of our planet every day, we will continue to be in danger of greater losses.
