350NJ-ROCKLAND 350NJ-ROCKLAND, July 24, 2022

On July 23rd, 2022, activists from various organizations including 350NJ-Rockland went to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware to protest plans to build 2 liquid natural gas export terminals along the Delaware River in Chester, PA and Gibbstown, NJ. It was organized by Food and Water Watch, Chester Residents Concerned for Quality Living and the Louisiana Bucket Brigade. These massive fracked gas projects would threaten our climate, environment and public health. Activists camped out the day before and learned about these 2 fights from students from Swarthmore College and others from the Louisiana Bucket Brigade who are spending the summer educating people on the boardwalk about the dangers of LNG ports. On July 23rd, a press conference was held at the boardwalk featuring huge models of sturgeon fish which are endangered. A creative skit was performed. About 50 people walked 1 1/2 miles to President Biden’s home carrying banners and signs. This event was covered by 6 local and state media.
