350NJ-R members participated in a “Paddle and March for our Lungs” in Secaucus, NJ on August 24th 2020. It was sponsored by the Don’t Gas the Meadowlands Coalition to stop a toxic fracked gas power plant that NJ Transit has proposed along the Hackensack River in Kearny, and to replace this plan with a clean, solar powered plant. There was a rally by the river, a march to the Secaucus train station for another rally while many kayakers paddled with protest signs to the site where the plant would be built – in and near low income communities of color.
