Several members of the DivestNJ Coalition, 350NJ-Rockland, NJ Sierra Club and The Climate Reality Project attended the NJ State Investment Council’s (SIC) public hearing on May 29th. We picketed outside of the hearing as the SIC members were arriving with various signs and few of us made public comments to ask the SIC to divest from fossil fuels now from the State Pension Fund, which is the worst funded state pension in the country. We also asked them to invest in the renewable, sustainable energy sector.
