‘350’ refers to the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere that climate scientists consider safe.
Scientists tell us we must reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere from its current level of 400 parts per million (“ppm”)to below 350 ppm to preserve life as we know it. But 350 is more than a number—it’s a symbol of where we need to head as a planet.
We believe that a global grassroots movement can hold our leaders accountable to the realities of science and the principles of justice. That movement is rising from the bottom up all over the world, and is uniting to create the solutions that will ensure a better future for all.
