350 Humboldt invites you to join our upcoming presentation, Humboldt Bay on the Threshold of Change, on Monday, June 7, at 7 p.m.
Partly because of climate change, and partly due to local land subsidence, Humboldt Bay has the highest rate of sea level rise on the West Coast. Over the coming years this will cause massive changes to our area as Hwy. 101, parts of Arcata, Eureka, the Samoa Peninsula, and vital infrastructure are flooded. But if we begin now, we can adapt to the changes.
Aldaron Laird, our presenter, is a local environmental planner with 40 years’ experience researching California coastal waters. In recent years Aldaron has focused on sea level rise on Humboldt Bay and is the leading expert on this topic.
We hope you will register for this important Zoom event at https://actionnetwork.org/events/humboldt-bay-on-the-threshold-of-change/
350 Humboldt would like to thank our event cosponsors: the Northcoast Environmental Center, Environmental Protection Information Center, the North Group of the Sierra Club’s Redwood Chapter, Coalition for Responsible Transportation Priorities, and the Climate Action Campaign of the Humboldt Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
