At the end of the legislative session one climate bill that would have increased emissions reductions from 40% to 55% by 2030 was killed and two others were taken over by large anti-solar corporate interests. The Governor will decide on these bills in the next couple of days. It only takes 60 seconds to call and leave a message. And the 55% reduction can be put into the scoping plan, California’s climate plan.

Please call. You can leave a recorded message on all three issues with one call. It will take less than two minutes.

Bills Number 1: Veto SB 844 100 BiLLION!!!! for Undergrounding transmission lines
Call Governor Newsom Today please at (916) 445-2841‬
Action Script:
Dont jeopardize California climate goals by making electricity too costly . We need the Governor to VETO SB 844
There are far better ways to invest $100 billion in clean Energy for our resiliency like rooftop solar with batteries
Don’t discourage customers switching to EV and electric houses by making electric too expensive

BILL #2: VETO AB 2143
Please call Governor Newsom Today at (916) 445-2841‬ and urge him to veto the last anti-solar bill standing!

Action script.
I am asking Gov Newsom to Veto AB 2143 because
AB 2143 would:
1) Hurt rooftop solar on multi-family housing, small businesses, nonprofits, places of worship, among other places where it is so needed;
2) Hurt the lives and livelihoods of many of the 65,000 workers who work in distributed solar and storage – including union solar contractors and women-owned and BIPOC-owned businesses; and
3) Penalize the customers themselves, in perpetuity, if they do business with a contractor who makes a mistake.
We must stop it before it stops rooftop solar in California. Please make your call to the Governor TODAY at (916) 445-2841‬ and urge him to veto AB 2143.

Call the governor at (916) 445-2841 and urge him to fix California’s climate plan so that it ensures 55% emissions reductions by 2030, rapidly phases out fossil fuels, and rejects Big Oil’s “carbon capture” scam.
