UNION OF CONCERN SCIENTISTS
For too long, people who live in apartments and condos have been left behind in the EV market simply because they don’t have a place to charge their vehicles at home. A new bill, SB 1482, would reduce inequitable barriers to EV adoption by expanding charging access in multi-family housing. SB 1482 passed the CA State Senate and the Assembly Housing and Appropriations Committees already, and it is headed to the Assembly floor for a vote as early as this week.

BUILD BACK FOSSIL FREE
Join the fight to protect the Arctic from oil drilling! In solidarity with the Sovereign Iñupiat for a Living Arctic (SILA), People vs. Fossil Fuels is collecting public comments to the Bureau of Land Management to stop the Willow Master Development Plan (Willow MDP). Since this is a federal review process, President Biden has the authority to stop the project.

ROGUE CLIMATE
There are only 3 days left in the comment period to tell FERC that we don’t want more fracked gas pipeline expansion in Oregon.
Take action today by submitting a comment to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) urging them to deny the GTN Xpress expansion and to prioritize clean energy, not more fossil fuels. FERC is only accepting comments until Monday, August 22nd.
CENTER FOR BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY
Ending the logging of mature forests and trees on federal public lands is a key strategy for curbing climate change — while also protecting biodiversity and healthy watersheds. Mature forests hold enormous amounts of carbon, safely stored in trunks, branches and soil. Left to grow, they will store even more. Yet federal agencies routinely target these carbon-storing heroes for logging.
But there’s a solution. Defining “mature” forests and trees as those 80 years of age and older, and then protecting them, would spare our most climate- and carbon-critical forests.
EVERGREEN ACTION
Since the passage of the Clean Air Act, California has been allowed to set more aggressive tailpipe emissions standards than the national standard. Now, the trucking industry is suing the EPA to pressure the Biden administration to deny California’s authority, threatening to set back years of progress toward reducing tailpipe pollution.

There are large numbers of pro-choice Democrats in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and California who often skip midterm elections. We believe the right message on this issue can help motivate these voters. We have worked with Planned Parenthood and other experts to develop these scripts, so you can be assured that you are sending a tested message that will resonate with these voters.
This postcard program focuses on the fact that Senate candidates John Fetterman (D-PA) and Cheri Beasley (D-NC), as well as our CA House candidates, will vote to protect reproductive rights, while Republicans are pushing a nationwide abortion ban.

Environmental Voter Project
Our next post carding campaign will be to Colorado voters ahead of their June 28th state primary!
We’ll be sending postcards to environmental voters who voted in the 2020 General Election, but are unlikely to vote in midterm elections based on their previous voting history.
If you have not already attended an EVP postcard training, please sign up for one of the 45 minute trainings below. We use very specific designs and messaging that are optimized to increase turnout, so we require all our postcarding volunteers to receive an EVP training before sending postcards.
