350 Humboldt Bus Adventure Monday October 2nd
Bus Adventures are a chance to get comfortable with public transit while meeting new people, chatting with old friends, doing something positive for climate change and exploring parts of our community. In the past, we have done hikes, lunches, picnics, a tour of Blue Ox and a tutorial on loading bikes on buses.
Our next adventure is on Monday, October 2. Travel with us by bus to Blue Lake for a talk and tour of the Blue Lake Rancheria’s sustainability programs. This is an adventure requested last year that we have finally been able to arrange.
Blue Lake has had it’s own separate bus system run by the Blue Lake Rancheria. You can catch it in Arcata at the Arcata Transit Center (1:30) or the Cal Poly Library Circle (1:35). Eureka riders can catch the Redwood Transit Bus #25 to Arcata in time to catch the Blue Lake bus. Once in Blue Lake, we will meet at 2 pm in the casino lobby. Heidi Moore-Guynup of the Rancheria will take us on the tour which will be approximately an hour. Then we will catch the 4:10 bus back to Arcata.
Sadly, we will be riding the Blue Lake bus system on its last day of operation! HTA is exploring the possibility of providing service there in the future but for now, that is unknown.
If you can, email me, Cathy Chandler-Klein, at [email protected] to let me know you are coming so we can all connect on the bus. I will try to connect riders coming in from Eureka as well. If you need any help figuring out the bus schedule or have any other questions, let me know. You can also text me at 707 845-0143. If I have your cell phone number, I will add you to the text thread for that day. Even if you haven’t contacted me or can’t get there by bus, please come anyway. The tour should be very informative.
We hope you will join us!
