The current HCAOG plan is stronger than what is proposed in the County’s Climate Action Plan (CAP). That’s why our committee is focused on modifying the CAP plan to come up to HCAOG standards. Now here is a chance to get even more climate-friendly provisions in the HCAOG transit plan.
This is our chance to advocate for a bus system that can get people out of their cars. HCAOG public workshop on their 5 year transit plan Wednesday 2 pm
These things are usually poorly attended which means that if you show up you can really influence the outcome. (Especially those of us who can now say we are transit users.)
Our ask: Make increased frequency of buses the highest priority
McKinleyville to CR express every 15 minutes and all other fixed routes in McKinleyville, Arcata, and Eureka every 30 minutes.
Why: There’s a climate emergency. Drivers say that’s what they’d need to ride the bus, and those towns are where most of the car trips are coming from.
Wednesday 2/1 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM In person or on Zoom
