Jim Hansen embodies the hard-working, humble, and deeply passionate values shared by so many people in the 350 network. He’s given this movement one of its greatest gifts: a deep understanding of the challenge we face and a dogged commitment to sharing that.

He spoke at the TED conference this Spring and shared his message to the crowd there. He begins by asking why he has taken the stand that he has–going to jail (alongside 1,253 others at the Tar Sands Action), speaking in ten countries, and continuing scientific research.

I highly recommend watching the full talk to hear directly from Dr. Hansen about the urgency of the climate crisis. Then, we hope you’ll join us May 5 as we heed his call and help connect the dots between extreme weather and climate change!
