How to Register and Make Comments to Ventura County Supervisors

This covers how to register to speak and then how to send emails before the deadline or during the meeting.

To speak to the Supervisors at the September 1 meeting about the General Plan Update, register no later than 3:30 p.m. on Monday, August 31, the day before. Speakers will be given 1-3 minutes depending on number of people.

REGISTRATION IS CURRENTLY CLOSED – WILL OPEN WHEN AGENDA IS PUBLISHED ON PRECEDING THURSDAY, AUGUST 27

Provide name, email address, and phone number you will be calling in from. You will receive an email with the Zoom meeting video link and password by 6:00 p.m the day prior to the Board meeting. The participation info is unique to you.

When the Board Meeting agenda is posted at ventura.org/bosmeetingsThursday before next week’s meeting, registration to make public comment will also be opened up.

During the zoom meeting a clerk will connect you to the Board room when you are prompted to provide public comment.All timely registrants will be called on and asked to make their comments. Do not register here if you are only wishing to observe the meeting.

Indicate in the Subject Line the Agenda item number (e.g., Item No. 9) on which you are commenting. It will be distributed to the Supervisors and placed into the record.

E-Mail Public Comments During the Meeting to be Read Aloud

If you are watching the live stream and would like to make a Public Comment to be read aloud by the Clerk, submit your comment, limited to 250 words or less, to the Clerk of the Board at [email protected]. Please include in the Subject Line of your e-mail both the Agenda item number (e.g., Item No. 9) and the words “Read at Meeting.” At the discretion of the Chair, if time allows, your comment may be read into the record. All comments received prior to the end of the meeting will be made part of the record.
