While the new administration was sworn in, Rhode Island activists gathered together to send a message: We will not be silenced. We will not stay home. We will demand change until meaningful action is taken to address the climate crisis.

Members of the Extraordinary Rendition Band started the rally off with some music.
The Extraordinary Rendition Band kicked off the event with a few rousing brass numbers. CARI Co-President Jeff Migneault introduced Co-President Caitlin Sanford who welcomed our featured speakers to the mic. Activists cheered along to inspiring messages to take action for justice and the climate from Councilwoman Sue AnderBois, Conservation Law Foundation Vice President Darrèll Brown, Rhode Island Senator Meghan Kallman, Rhode Island Representatives David Morales and Jen Steward, and the Climate Accountability Project at Public Citizen Director Aaron Regunberg.
