CARI is pleased to endorse climate champion Miguel Torres, who is challenging longtime incumbent Brian Patrick Kennedy for District 38 State Representative.

Miguel, a student at the University of Rhode Island and an organizer with the Sunrise Movement, has made it a top priority to ensure that our state government take urgent action regarding the climate crisis. Indeed, a key motivation for Miguel to enter the race was his opponent’s objection to Rhode Island taking any climate action. In an online report posted on the Uprise RI website in March 2020, incumbent Rep. Kennedy spoke against the Act on Climate bill, which is the top legislative priority of every environmental organization in the state.

Miguel’s commitment to securing a better future for Rhode Island has earned him CARI’s enthusiastic endorsement for State Representative in District 38.
