Calling all Rhode Islanders for a fun, easy Earth Day project!

Since we can’t gather for the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, we’re asking everyone instead to submit a photo of themselves holding a hand-written Earth Day message. We want to collect over 200 photos by Wednesday, April 15 Friday, April 17 and compile them into a powerful slideshow video.

Can you hand-write a sign and send us a picture of yourself holding it?

There are two themes we’d like the video to convey:

  1. We love Rhode Island and care deeply about protecting it from the coming onslaught of the climate crisis.
  2. We don’t want Chase Bank—the world’s leading funder of the climate crisis—to open 12 new branches in our area (Providence, Cranston, Smithfield, East Greenwich, South Kingstown, Pawtucket, Middletown, Barrington and Attleboro).

Here are some sample messages, but feel free to write your own!

  • Keep Rhode Island Above Water —
    We Need Climate Action Now!
  • Chase Bank fuels climate crisis:
NOT welcome in Barrington!” (or your town)

(Or if you prefer, download and print a sign from here or here.)

Then, hold up the sign and take a selfie. Include kids, pets and other quarantine partners. Choose a natural setting, or just take a selfie at your kitchen table… it’s up to you!

Finally, submit your photo using this Google web form, or email it as an attachment to: [email protected].

Get your photos in today!

Thanks,

— Jen, Abby, Justin, Brian, & Liz
