Climate Action Rhode Island, the 4000-strong statewide grassroots organization working for a sustainable climate, is proud to endorse Keith Hoffmann for RI Attorney General in 2026. Among a field of Democratic candidates who’ve shown a commitment to environmental issues, Keith stands out for his understanding of how to vigorously enforce our state’s climate laws and to continue his crucial work opposing the Trump administration’s attempts to lock us into a hot, expensive, fossil-fueled future.
“The Attorney General plays a critical role in defending Rhode Island’s climate laws and protecting the progress we’ve made toward a clean energy future,” said Jeff Migneault, Executive Director of Climate Action Rhode Island. “We are confident that Keith Hoffmann will stand up for Rhode Islanders, defend our state’s climate leadership, and ensure our environmental laws are upheld.”
“I’m truly honored to earn the endorsement of Climate Action Rhode Island on behalf of thousands of grassroots environmental advocates across our state,” said Keith Hoffmann. “Climate change poses an extraordinary threat to Rhode Islanders’ coastline, communities, public health, and economy. As Attorney General, I’ll vigorously enforce our climate and environmental laws, hold powerful polluters accountable, and continue standing up to the Trump administration when it unlawfully attacks clean energy and fails to make industry responsible for environmental degradation,” said Hoffmann. “Our climate crisis demands swift action, and I pledge to act with the energy and force the moment demands as your Attorney General.”
CARI believes Keith Hoffmann’s experience serving alongside Rhode Island’s 74th Attorney General Peter Neronha—a proven champion for climate action—has prepared him to continue Rhode Island’s leadership in defending climate progress for our state in court. At a time when Rhode Island’s climate progress faces challenges, alongside continued attacks on clean energy from the Trump administration and the fossil fuel industry, many of the most important climate battles are being fought in court. We are confident Keith has the experience and commitment to defend our clean energy progress, uphold Rhode Island’s climate laws, and stand up to federal overreach.
