The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for the CARI picnic last Sunday July 21. CARI members and local environmental activists gathered to connect over their shared climate action goals while enjoying a tasty lunch with food and beverages donated by local businesses.
AG Peter Neronha spoke on the state of environmental progress in Rhode Island, and the mood was optimistic as CARI leadership shared successes from the year and hoped for more directed action on climate issues from state-level government in next year’s legislative session. A transcript of the AG’s speech is online.
Around $7,000 dollars were raised via ticket sales and by generous donors. Thank you to all our donors and to the local businesses that supported the event, including Plant City, Moniker Brewery, Wildflour Vegan Bakery and Cafe, Sin Bakery, and New Harvest Coffee Roasters! Check out the program book from the event for more details about CARI’s activities in the past year.
