Climate Action Rhode Island (CARI) has announced its endorsements for the 2026 general election in Rhode Island’s House and Senate races, backing candidates who have demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing Rhode Island’s climate and clean energy goals.
CARI’s endorsements in the September primary saw successes across both House and Senate races, with all of our endorsed candidates advancing to the general election. We will continue to support our endorsed candidates who face challengers in November, while expanding our endorsements to include additional candidates who did not face contested primaries.
These endorsements reflect the importance of electing legislators who understand the urgency of climate change and are prepared to build on the progress Rhode Island has made in recent years. The next General Assembly will play an important role in determining how the state implements its existing climate commitments and continues moving forward on clean energy.
The candidates we are endorsing will advance practical, science-based policies that strengthen the state’s response to climate change, expand clean energy, modernize Rhode Island’s energy system, and ensure the state continues meeting the goals established under the Act on Climate and the Renewable Energy Standard.
