Dear CARI member,

I am writing to let you know that I am stepping down from my position as CARI’s Executive Director as of October, 2026. I have had the pleasure of helping to lead CARI as either a Co-President or Executive Director for over 3 years. It has been an honor to work with all of our great volunteers, staff and other collaborators. I am proud of how we have moved CARI forward step by step to be a stronger, more visible and better resourced organization. It has been some of the most meaningful work I have ever done.

This was not an easy decision for me, because I have loved leading CARI, but this was the right time to make a change. I have full faith that Climate Action Rhode Island will move forward with new leadership and continue to make a real difference speeding the just transition to renewable energy here in Rhode Island.

Avery Robertson is stepping in as our Interim Executive Director as we move forward with a search for a new Executive Director. Her deep experience and full dedication to CARI will keep our momentum strong.

And although I have stepped away from the Executive Director role, I am in reality just stepping back into the esteemed role of a CARI volunteer. I will continue to co-lead the Politics Team with Bill Ibelle as we work for our endorsed candidates in their November elections and prepare, with our collaborators, for a successful 2027 legislative session.

You all have my best wishes,
With appreciation,

Jeff Migneault
