Thank you to everyone who supported and attended CARI’s fundraiser picnic! It was an incredible day filled with community, connection, and collective commitment to climate action. We were thrilled to have such an incredible turnout of people who share an interest and a dedication to preserving a livable planet and correcting environmental injustices.

We lucked out with beautiful weather, perfect for enjoying local music, delicious food and drink, and an impressive array of raffle prizes generously donated by Rhode Island businesses. From lively conversations on the lawn to new friendships sparked at the picnic blankets, all around, it was a fantastic day spent with good people to rally for a great cause.

Raffle items donated by: Seven Arrows Farm, Charter Books, Newport Vineyards, Bodhi Spa, The Farmers Daughter, Kayak Center, Jala Yoga Studio, South Coast Organics & Bulk Food, All that Matters Yoga, Earth Care Farm, Audubon Society of RI, ISCO Spirits, Screaming Unicorn, and PVD Vegan Deli

We were honored to be joined by three inspiring speakers whose remarks captured both the urgency of the moment and the power of organized action:

Aaron Regunberg reminded us that preserving our democracy is essential to building a just and sustainable future.

Seth Magaziner highlighted what’s at stake—and possible—at the federal level.

Alana DiMario spoke to the path forward for climate legislation in Rhode Island.

If you missed it or want to revisit their words, you can watch the recording from Steve Ahlquist here:

The leadership of CARI also wants to thank all of you for the financial support you showed of this fundraiser, whether through the tickets you bought, the raffle chances you purchased or by making additional donations during or after the event. And it is not too late to donate more!  All told we raised over $10,000 including the matching of donations by Kim Anderson of Plant City.

These donations, small or large, are all helpful.  CARI is known for making a little go a long way, for which we credit the incredible set of volunteers we have, but having more resources will help us do more and be more effective in what we do.

We encourage you to check out our 2025 Program Book to see all that we’ve accomplished together over the past year—and where we’re headed next. From fighting for offshore wind to training the next generation of climate leaders, we’re building momentum every day.
