Tell the EMC to protect our water and put public health over polluters’ interests!
The Environmental Management Commission (EMC), the body tasked with creating rules to protect NC’s air, water, and environment, is considering a weak proposal that will not keep harmful chemicals like PFAS and 1,4-dioxane out of our water. The EMC wants to allow polluters to set their own targets for pollution reductions, with no consequences if pollution stays the same or even increases. UNACCEPTABLE! Sign the petition here.
The EMC is also accepting comments and hosting hearings across the state. NC Conservation Network and partners are hosting a webinar on April 6th at 7 pm to help people craft their comments and ask questions before the hearings start. Register for that webinar here. The Raleigh public hearing takes place on April 20th at the Dobbs Building at 6pm.
