CARI is pleased to announce its endorsement of Maggie Kain for state senate District 37. Maggie, a 20-year resident of South County, is a founding board member of Our Revolution Rhode Island, an organization born from Senator Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign. Since founding the local chapter, Kain has supported many groups in their fight for economic, reproductive, social and environmental justice in Rhode Island. Maggie has a broad progressive stance on issues, including a focused dedication to climate change action and is supported by other progressive groups. Maggie is challenging the incumbent, Susan Sosnowski, noting that Ms. Soznowski has a powerful position to enact changes as the Environment and Agriculture Committee chair, but has not succeeded in implementing meaningful climate action.

Maggie is a committed ally for climate action in the Senate, and CARI enthusiastically endorses her for Senate District 37.
