Climate Action Rhode Island proudly endorses Jennifer Douglas for State Senator for District 34. Jennifer believes strongly in the need to address climate change due to the threat it poses to our homes, lives and economy. She believes that a just transition to 100% renewable energy by 2030 that prioritizes working people and frontline communities is necessary. Jennifer plans to promote carbon-neutral housing, and strongly supports the Green New Deal, arguing that the job creation resulting from the conversion to renewable energy will improve the housing market and schools.

Jennifer’s opponent, incumbent Elaine Morgan, is a Trump-loving extremist who mocks mask-wearing and the need for climate action. Morgan recently posted to Facebook, “Why do people think that they can control climate change? God controls this humans do not!”
