Rhode Island needs wind power to meet its Act on Climate goals and ensure an equitable transition from fossil to renewable fuels. But the Newport County Preservation Society has filed a lawsuit that could delay bringing offshore wind energy to our state. That’s why dozens of climate activists gathered outside the organization’s holiday party at The Elms in Newport on December 19 to show their support for offshore wind and to demand the Society to drop their lawsuit!

Protesters at The Elms support wind and call for the Newport County Preservation Society to drop its lawsuit against two permitted offshore wind projects.
