Future of Energy Art Exhibition • Clean Energy Fest • November 5, 2016

The Future of Energy Art Exhibition is a pop-up exhibition that will bring together artists, engineers, urban planners, architects, environmental scientists, and others to provide a space for the exchange of innovative ideas related to clean energy.  350 Pensacola seeks your participation in this all-media juried exhibition, a component of the Clean Energy Fest, to be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016.

The Clean Energy Fest is a celebration of the future of clean energy through live music, art, food, and more at the J. Earle Bowden Building at 120 Church St. in the heart of downtown Pensacola. 350 Pensacola hopes the festival will inspire our community to think beyond fossil fuels and to push for renewable alternatives and energy conservation.

The Future of Energy Art Exhibition will also serve as a kick-off to a series of events including STEAM2017, an art exhibition and colloquium at the University of West Florida’s TAG Gallery in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts.  STEAM2017 will explore art, science, and hybrid practices related to water and the environment.  A special STEAM award will be given to an outstanding work in the Clean Energy Exhibition, which will include an invitation to be part of the STEAM2017 exhibition.

The Clean Energy Fest, part of the second annual Foo Foo Festival, is made possible by a grant from Art, Culture and Entertainment (ACE), Inc., and the fiscal sponsorship of Pensacola Community Action Network (Pensacola CAN).

  • How can we integrate the old and the new to make this transition work?
  • What is the connection between art and sustainability?
  • How can we take positive action and work together to find the path to resilience and sustainability in our communities?
  • How can we restore the bond between people and the natural world to assure our communities thrive?
  • Can one envision the connection between conservation at home and the smart growth of our cities?
  • What do we value in our communities? How can we care for what makes us unique and power our communities at the same time?
