We ended 2021 with good news on the air permit being denied for Mountain Valley Pipeline\u2019s Lambert Compressor Station. Yeah! But bad news on the 404 water permits for MVP getting the go ahead in both VA and WV. Ugh! The fires in the Boulder area were frightening. Check out this interview on Democracy NOW! with Jennifer Balch, director of the Earth Lab at the University of Colorado, Boulder, Climate Change-Fueled Blaze Destroys 1,000 Homes in Colorado in Rare Winter Wildfire<\/a>. The climate crisis is here now, screaming at us every day with obvious signs.<\/div>\n

This delay of the Build Back Better Act is a crucial time to demand the Senate remove billions of dollars in handouts to dirty energy corporations in the final version of the bill. \u2022 Nuclear power production<\/div>\n
\u2022 Biofuels, including funding for biofuel development and biomass power plants<\/div>\n
\u2022 Carbon Capture and Storage, including for coal, fracking, and enhanced oil recovery projects<\/div>\n

  2. Tell Morgan Stanley<\/a> that their 2030 climate targets aren\u2019t good enough and they need to do better.<\/li>\n
  3. Tell Chase, Citibank, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America<\/a> that their 2030 climate targets must include an immediate end to supporting all new fossil fuel projects.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Teams of volunteers throughout the watershed will be picking up trash from the river and its tributaries. In the last 32 years 6,230 volunteers collected 10,714 bags of trash and 1,944 tires from the Haw. If you\u2019re interested in volunteering or creating a team of your own sign up here<\/a>.<\/div>\n
