July 25, Walking Water Conversation<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

Walking Water welcomes Simone Senogles and Marian Moore of the Line 3 campaign in Minnesota and Crystal Cavalier-Keck of the NoMVP Southgate pipeline campaign. Abolish the filibuster!<\/strong> Our ability to pass critical action on climate depends on abolishing the filibuster. The filibuster stands in the way of progress that people are demanding. July 26, Save Democracy!<\/strong><\/div>\n

\nDemocracy is hanging by a thread. We now have fewer voting rights than we did in 1965, and 28 state laws have been passed which will restrict voting rights even more. These laws target people of color, the poor, and young people.
\nTuesdays with Tillis and the Poor People\u2019s Campaign are hosting an action at the Federal Building in Raleigh. Our goals are:
\n\u2022 Ending the Filibuster
\n\u2022 Passing all provisions of the For the People Act
\n\u2022 Full restoration of the 1965 Voting Rights Act
\n\u2022 Raising the minimum wage to $15\/hr<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
If you are making signs, we ask that they relate to one of these four points. Signs will also be provided. Consider wearing a hat and bringing a water bottle with you; it may be hot. We can provide a limited amount of water but not plastic water bottles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

North Carolina exports more wood pellets overseas to be burned for energy than any other state in the nation. The wood pellet industry destroys 164 acres of NC forests every day. Sign this petition<\/a> to urge Governor Cooper to break the biomass industry\u2019s hold on NC.<\/div>\n

We\u2019re now at that moment \u2015 and it is vital that we hold the world\u2019s leaders to their promises.<\/p>\n
