{"id":145,"date":"2016-12-29T21:56:26","date_gmt":"2016-12-30T02:56:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/world.350.org\/triangle\/?p=145"},"modified":"2017-04-06T23:12:55","modified_gmt":"2017-04-07T03:12:55","slug":"february-4th-climate-change-and-solutions-for-nc-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/world.350.org\/triangle\/february-4th-climate-change-and-solutions-for-nc-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"February 4th Climate Change Solutions for NC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Join us Saturday, February 4th, 2017 for \u00a0<strong>Climate Change Solutions for NC<\/strong>\u00a0in downtown Raleigh to learn about solutions to climate change and actions we can take in NC!\u00a0The conference will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, across from the Old State Capital, at 121 Hillsborough Street, in Shepherd Hall, 10 am to 5 pm. \u00a0We\u2019ll have presentations on environmental, social, and racial justice; climate change; resilient agriculture; climate solutions; and more.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\">\n<p>Speakers\u00a0are: Bill McKibben\u00a0(recorded video\u00a0for our conference from him), \u00a0Rev. Gerald Durley (Climate Change\/Environmental Justice as the Civil\/Human Rights Issues of our Time),\u00a0Dr. Robert George (Climate Change Consequences to Oceans and Solutions),\u00a0Donald Addu (Citizens Climate Lobby), Laura Lengnick (Resilient Agriculture and Cultivating Resilience), Mark Jacobson by Skype (Climate Solutions), Rev. Rodney Sadler (Renewable Energy as a Theological\/Moral Concern),\u00a0Emery Kiefer (NCSU Renewables Campaign), John Runkle (Legal and Policy Obstacles for Clean Energy), and\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Lise Van Susteren and\u00a0Laura Wenzel (Climate Change Health Impacts and Solutions).<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll have actions people can take. One focus will be encouraging people to get their cities and counties to sign onto the Climate Solutions resolution, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecowatch.com\/renewable-energy-solutions-project-2151130342.html?utm_content=buffer8cf66&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter.com&amp;utm_campaign=buffer\">like the town of Boone, NC<\/a> did last month.
