People’s Climate Movement leading up to April 29th historic march!!

There are lots of events to choose from as 2017 begins!
Jan. 9, Day Against Denial, The Terry Sanford Federal Building and Courthouse, 4 pm, 310 New Bern Avenue, Suite 122, Raleigh 
A national day of action calling on Senators to block cabinet nominations of:

Rex Tillerson for Sec. of State

Scott Pruitt for EPA Administrator
Ex-Gov. Rick Perry for Secretary of Energy
Rep. Ryan Zinke for Department of Interior
There will also be a small team of people meeting with Sen. Tillis staff earlier in the day. For those not able to go to attend the rally, please call 202-224-3154 for Sen. Burr and 202-224-6342 for Sen. Tillis any time between now and January 13th to ask them to help block the nominations and tell them there are 100% renewables options!! Jan. 20,  Visit staff at Rep Price, Rep. Butterfield, Rep. Holding’s Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill offices in the afternoon 
Focusing on encouraging them to speak out for renewable energy and the Earth and to block any terrible bills introduced. Let me know if you’d like to join some of the 350 Triangle team with the visits!

Jan. 20 Inaugural Prayer Circle, 5:30-6:30, at Community United Church of Christ, 814 Dixie Trail, Raleigh

Jan. 21, Women’s March in DC And local Women’s March downtown Raleigh in solidarity, at City Plaza to Moore Square, 11 am – 1 pm
Jan. 22 Prayer Circle in Response of the Inaugural, 12-1 pm at Community United Church of Christ, 814 Dixie Trail, Raleigh 

Jan. 23, Save the date! National day of action coordinated with the Peoples Climate Movement. There will be NC regional statewide events. More info coming!

Feb. 4 Climate Change and Solutions for NC, Church of the Good Shepherd,  121 Hillsborough St. Raleigh, NC 27603, across from the Old State Capital, 10 am to 5 pm

Speakers so far are: Bill McKibben and Michael Mann (two recorded videos for our conference from them), Laura Wenzel (clean air), Donald Addu (Citizens Climate Lobby), Laura Lengnick (Resilient Agriculture), Mark Jacobson by Skype (Climate Solutions), Emery Kiefer (NCSU renewables campaign), John Runkle (legal and policy obstacles to clean energy) and Rev. Gerald Durley (racial and climate justice). We’ll have actions people can take. One focus will be encouraging people to get their cities and counties to sign onto the Climate Solutions resolution. We’ll also encourage people to join the NC Atlantic Coast Pipeline walk in March.
