Information about an action to take below:
*Call President Biden and tell him to STOP Line 3 and ALL fossil fuel projects!
But first, GREAT NEWS!!! TC Energy (Trans Canada) terminates Keystone KXL!
From Indigenous Environmental Network:
“After more than 10 years — we have finally defeated an oil and gas giant! Keystone XL is DEAD!
We are dancing in our hearts for this victory!

#NoKXL #NoTarSands”

“And now:
• DAPL needs to be Shut Down.
• Line 3 needs to be stopped.
• MVP needs to be stopped
• Line 5 need to be shut down
• Jordan Cove needs to be stopped
We building power!

For many of us, Keystone XL was our first pipeline fight. Four people from our original organizing team in the summer of 2011, before we were 350 Triangle, were part of the over 1,000 people arrested at the actions in D.C. in September 2011. A couple months later many of us rode the bus together to D.C. with the huge black snake in the streets, calling on President Obama to stop the Keystone XL. Bill McKibben came to Raleigh in December that year and shared photos and stories. On a freezing, cold day in February 2013, there were even more buses from NC in D.C. calling on Obama to stop Keystone at an even larger rally. And of course, the even larger rally in September 2014 in NYC!! I still have the orange vest and sign from 2011, the sign and hat from 2013, and buttons and signs from 2014 in my office!
Great article in Common Dreams with quotes from Bill McKibben and Jamie Henn here.’s press release here.
Video Jamie shared here from 2015 about the Keystone fight.
Yeah for people power, that is continuing, including with this action you can take today!
CALL PRESIDENT BIDEN! Phone number: 888-724-8946

In solidarity with Indigenous leaders and water protectors fighting Line 3 and other fossil fuel projects, the Build Back Fossil Free movement is flooding the Biden administration with phone calls, urging the President to shut down these projects! (Of course I mentioned MVP and MVPSouthgate too, when I left a message!)

Sample script:

“My name is ____, I live in _____. Since the White House public comment line is closed, I’m calling to urge President Biden to shut down the Line 3 pipeline & reject all new fossil fuel projects. If the President is serious about addressing the climate emergency and respecting Indigenous sovereignty, he needs to keep fossil fuels in the ground and protect communities that have borne the brunt of pollution and climate change.”
