Local Climate Change Activism  = 350 South Florida

The members of “350 South Florida” organize around climate change issues locally, and we advance the goals of the international movement 350.org in the South Florida region. We make noise about a very important number.

Not “305” and not “360.” Three Hundred Fifty.

Too much carbon pollution is the problem. The number “350” refers to what scientists consider a safe level of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. That level was last measured in 1988. In 2013, the level surpassed 400 ppm (parts per million)–higher than any time in the past 1 million years. All greenhouse gases continue to rise at alarming rates, and this trend must be reversed.

Join us in the fight of the century.
