On Wednesday, March 23 at 6:00pm, 350 Santa Barbara will host an online community conversation on the just transition from gas by Tomás Rebecchi from Food & Water Watch. Since 2021, the neighborhood of westside Ventura County banded together as the Westside Clean Air Coalition and has been battling the renovation of Southern California Gas Company’s Ventura Compressor Station. Drawing statewide attention from elected officials, regulatory agencies, and the general public, the issue brings attention to the call for a fair and just transition and how grassroot action can shape a community’s future.
