Climate Action Rhode Island (CARI) has announced our endorsements in key Democratic primary races, backing a group of candidates who have demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing Rhode Island’s climate and clean energy agenda.<\/span><\/p>\n

These endorsements reflect the importance of electing legislators who understand the urgency of climate change and are prepared to build on the progress Rhode Island has made in recent years.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Rhode Island has established itself as a national leader on climate policy, but passing legislation is only the beginning,” said Jeff Migneault, Executive Director of Climate Action Rhode Island. “The next General Assembly will determine whether we continue moving forward with implementation, innovation, and investment, or whether that progress slows. We’re proud to support candidates who recognize that addressing climate change requires sustained leadership, thoughtful policymaking, and a long-term commitment to Rhode Island’s future.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The candidates we are endorsing have demonstrated a willingness to advance practical, science-based policies that strengthen the state’s response to climate change, expand clean energy, modernize Rhode Island’s energy system, and ensure the state continues meeting the ambitious goals established under the Act on Climate and the Renewable Energy Standard.<\/span><\/p>\n

“As communities across Rhode Island experience more frequent flooding, stronger storms, rising temperatures, and increasing energy costs, the need for bold, forward-looking leadership has never been greater,” Migneault said. “These candidates understand that protecting our environment and growing our economy go hand in hand. They will be strong partners as we continue the work of building a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient Rhode Island.”<\/span><\/p>\n
