\nYes to Wind has gone national, with the campaign concluding a successful first national Week of Action. Between November 15\u201323, communities across the country hosted a diversity of local events to highlight support for offshore wind. Together, we\u2019re building a wave of visible support that pushes back on misinformation and makes it clear that people say \u201cyes\u201d to clean, reliable energy in their own backyards.<\/p>\n

Yes to Wind has grown into a coordinated national effort led by Climate Action RI and supported by Oceantic Network and dozens of regional partners to demonstrate strong support for offshore wind. As the originators of the campaign, Rhode Island plays an especially active role, contributing both the core message and the visual identity behind Yes to Wind \u2014 including our iconic YES sign and other visuals, which appeared this past week at partner events from Delaware to Louisiana to Times Square.<\/p>\n
The Week of Action lifted up the wide range of voices behind offshore wind \u2014 labor, small businesses, scientists, policy experts, youth leaders, coastal residents, and more \u2014 all united by the economic and environmental benefits wind brings to communities nationwide. Between rallies, roundtables, webinars, community events, supply-chain business spotlights, and educational programs, the economic and environmental benefits of offshore wind were front and center \u2014 including its role in energy affordability and reliability. Here at home, Rhode Island participated in a community-led educational showcase, a happy hour bringing together policymakers and workers across the industry, and a visit to South Fork Wind, where attendees had the rare chance to see turbines up close.<\/p>\n
Coast-to-coast, advocates, labor unions, business leaders, and state and local officials are joining forces under the Yes to Wind banner to highlight how offshore wind is creating good union jobs, strengthening local economies, and delivering reliable, American-made energy. \nRhode Island had a packed week! Here in the ocean state we had a range of events from education to experience.<\/p>\n\n
