style=\"text-align: center;\">History<\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">350 Pittsburgh was founded in Spring 2015 by a number of local environmental activists who wanted to build on the momentum of the Sept 2014 People&#8217;s Climate March and form a Pittsburgh group dedicated to climate issues. \u00a0All are welcome, please join our efforts.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\">Vision<\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">We envision a future where policies and actions at the local, state, federal and international levels will have ensured a stable climate that provides an opportunity for all people to achieve health, prosperity and fulfillment.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Mission<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">By public education and collaborative civic activism we will:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Promote understanding of the devastating impact of climate change on the urban and rural communities in our region and elsewhere.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Demand that the region\u2019s decision makers take all possible steps to help diminish climate disruption by ending our reliance on fossil fuels and investing in good jobs in a renewable energy economy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Encourage people in our city and region to become actively involved in the urgent struggle to reverse catastrophic climate change.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Donations<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">350Pittsburgh gratefully accepts and solicits donations consistent with its mission. \u00a0Gifts of money as well as goods and services that support our activities are welcomed. \u00a0As our primary mission focuses on mitigation of the climate crisis it is not consistent with our values to receive support from organizations whose primary activity directly exacerbates the climate crisis. \u00a0This includes companies extracting fossil fuels, developing the infrastructure for extraction, and organizations who have not initiated or completed a plan to divest their investment portfolio of fossil fuel interests.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\">Affiliations<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">350 Pittsburgh is affiliated with the international\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/350.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">350.org<\/a>\u00a0group. <\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">350.org is building a global grassroots climate movement that can hold our leaders accountable to the realities of science and the principles of justice.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<p><!---\n \t\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">350 Pittsburgh is an affiliated project of the Pittsburgh\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/thomasmertoncenter.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Thomas Merton Center<\/a>. \u00a0<\/span>\n\n\n<ul>\n \t\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The Thomas Merton Center works to build a consciousness of values and to raise the moral questions involved in the issues of war, poverty, racism, classism, economic justice, human rights, and environmental justice.\u00a0TMC engages people of diverse philosophies and faiths who find common ground in the nonviolent struggle to bring about a more peaceful
