InCLine 2025 Ignites Climate Action in the Schools of Quezon City and Caloocan City<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last November 26, 2025, in observance of National Environmental Awareness Month, Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week, and World Sustainable Transport Day, more than 40 senior high school student leaders gathered at the Tandang Sora Women\u2019s Museum for a powerful day of climate learning and youth-driven action.<\/p>\n

The <\/span>Institutionalizing Climate Leadership and Environmentalism (InCLine) Training 2025<\/b>, themed <\/span>\u201cScience in Action: From Climate Crisis to Resilient Schools through Youth Leadership,\u201d <\/b>challenged our young leaders to transform climate knowledge into real, science-based solutions for their campuses and communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Organized by <\/span>Lasallian Institute For the Environment<\/b> (<\/span>LIFE)<\/b>, <\/span>350 Pilipinas<\/b>, and in collaboration with <\/span>Amnesty International Philippines<\/b>, this one-day leadership training brought together student leaders from five different schools across Quezon City (<\/span>Emilio Jacinto National High School, Melchora Aquino National High School, and Tandang Sora National High School<\/b>) and Caloocan City (<\/span>Kalayaan National High School<\/b> and <\/span>Caloocan National Science and Technology High School<\/b>). The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) officers, Supreme Student Government (SSG) leaders, and Science Club members led the way in igniting the climate movement right in the heart of their schools.<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the morning session, participants unpacked the science behind the climate crisis and examined the inter-sectional issues of inequality, vulnerability, and community resilience. <\/span><\/p>\n

They learned not only <\/span>what<\/span><\/i> the climate crisis is, but also <\/span>why<\/span><\/i> it impacts communities differently and <\/span>how<\/span><\/i> young leaders can help change that narrative.<\/span><\/p>\n

Learning the Science and the Systems Behind It<\/b><\/p>\n

In the afternoon session, they dove into the core of climate justice, exploring the climate emergency as both a scientific and social challenge, one that demands leadership, empathy, and collective action. Students were challenged to <\/span>collaborate and take action<\/b> for <\/span>youth-led climate initiatives<\/b> by creating campaigns and advocacy projects that <\/span>promote climate justice and sustainability, in their schools and communities.<\/b><\/p>\n

Armed with new knowledge, participants rolled up their sleeves and designed actionable, school-based climate projects\u2014from improving waste management systems in their schools to help tackle flooding in their home communities, to promoting <\/span>active mobility<\/b>, including the crowd favorite, <\/span>\u201cWalk Day Friday,\u201d<\/b> a student-led initiative that encourages low-carbon commuting and sustainable transport.<\/span><\/p>\n

I saw firsthand how their work embodied creativity, purpose, and heart\u2014the true trademark of their outputs.<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Before closing the program, students gathered for a reflective and empowering moment. They crafted their <\/span>Climate Action Pledges<\/b>, commitments rooted in responsibility, creativity, and care for our shared home. <\/span><\/p>\n

One by one, they signed the <\/span>Commitment Wall<\/b>, transforming personal pledge into a public promise of climate leadership. Even their club advisers joined in, standing <\/span>side by side with the students<\/b>, ready to guide and support their <\/span>school-based initiatives.<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/b>This commitment was not just a ceremony,\u00a0 <\/span>this action marked the beginning of a youth-led movement<\/b>. That as they return to their schools, these young leaders bring with them fresh knowledge, sharpened advocacy skills, and a renewed sense of purpose. Most importantly, they carry with them the belief that <\/span>their voices matter and their actions can spark lasting change.<\/b><\/p>\n\n\t\t
