Islands of Hope Team Islands of Hope Team, September 17, 2014

Brisbane will be officially standing in solidarity with the Pacific Climate Warriors as Brisbanites take to the Brisbane river for our own flotilla.

Join us for a walk and paddle along the river to show our support for Pacific Islanders who are facing up to the threat of climate change impacts on their homes and cultures.

We will meet at the Maritime Museum in Southbank and make our way to Kangaroo Point. You can either walk, or if you want, paddle along the river, led by the Warriors.

At Kangaroo Point we will use the sand bags to build an Island of Hope – sending a message around the world that we will stand in support of our Pacific neighbours.

You can register for the event here. When you register indicate whether you want to hire a canoe or bring you own and we will follow up with all the information you need.

Help spread the event by sharing through Facebook!
