\"damnation<\/a>On February 19, 2017, Long Beach 350 was asked by the Los Cerritos\u00a0Wetlands Land Trust to participate in an event screening of the movie Damnation. It\u00a0was a tabling event, which allowed us to provide information about our local Long\u00a0Beach 350 group and offer opportunities for the public to learn how to get involved.<\/p>\n

It was an ideal occasion to meet up with fellow club members to discuss\u00a0environmental issues with the public at the Sustainable Sunday Cinema event\u00a0screening of the film. Attendees could feel the positive energy of the collective group\u00a0of people who were interested in sustainability and topics regarding our effect on\u00a0the planet, due to a multitude of various issues. People came together sharing their\u00a0unique passions for the preservation and protection of the environment, while\u00a0hoping to absorb new information and listening openly to the ideas of fellow\u00a0community members.<\/p>\n

The Sustainable Sunday Cinema event allowed us to share ideas and\u00a0concerns for current environmental issues, and to make connections with others\u00a0who shared a similar passion. Those of us in attendance witnessed an outpouring of\u00a0support from the local community and were inspired to do our part. Although\u00a0events like these last just for a day, the rippling effects of experiencing this type of\u00a0opportunity can last a lifetime. We become more empowered to share what we have\u00a0learned with others outside of our usual comfort zones, and therefore we all grow.<\/p>\n
