350 KC is made up of ordinary Kansas Citians determined to preserve a livable climate. We work to stop tar sands pipelines, encourage institutions to divest from fossil fuel companies, build support for the federal government to put a price on carbon that internalizes the true costs of fossil fuels in the prices we pay and inspire people to embrace a rapid transition from dirty to clean energy.
We are part of a global movement.
The number 350 means climate safety: to preserve a livable planet, scientists tell us we must reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere from its current level of 400 parts per million to below 350 ppm. We believe that a global grassroots movement can hold our leaders accountable to the realities of science and the principles of justice. That movement is rising from the bottom up all over the world, and is uniting to create the solutions that will ensure a better future for all. Learn more at 350.org.
We are building local support.
Join us in bringing the 350 movement to Kansas City. We seek to partner with local institutions and organizations that wish to divest from fossil fuels and work to stop the Keystone XL Pipeline. Learn about how to get involved.
