These changes will lead to more deforestation, reduction of permanent protection areas such as riverbanks, and the granting of amnesty to those who&nbsp;illegally&nbsp;cleared the forest, jeopardizing Brazil&#8217;s efforts to reduce their deforestation rates and greenhouse gas&nbsp;emissions.
