Hoy os quer\u00eda hablar brevemente de la crisis que est\u00e1 sufriendo Espa\u00f1a, mi pa\u00eds natal, en relaci\u00f3n con la huelga de transportistas que reclaman una bajada en el precio del combustible. Las carreteras est\u00e1n bloqueadas, muchos alimentos no llegan a su destino final y la violencia est\u00e1 llegando a las carreteras. Como todos sabemos, el precio del petr\u00f3leo est\u00e1 aumentando en todo el mundo a un ritmo desorbitado y arrastra consigo consecuencias palpables: llenar el dep\u00f3sito del coche es cada vez m\u00e1s caro, los taxis est\u00e1n por las nubes, los alimentos en general est\u00e1 subiendo sin parar\u2026 \u00bfA d\u00f3nde vamos a llegar? Ahora son los trabajadores del sector transportista quienes protestan porque ven empeorar su calidad de vida, pero esta crisis se podr\u00eda extender f\u00e1cilmente a otros sectores. Nadie queda libre del alcance de este problema global. Y a todo esto,<\/p>\n

\u00bfse puede poner soluci\u00f3n? Es evidente es que no podemos seguir igual que hasta ahora. La crisis del precio del petr\u00f3leo est\u00e1 directamente relacionada con el cambio clim\u00e1tico y muchas personas (y pol\u00edticos) parecen olvidarlo. Nuestros l\u00edderes pol\u00edticos deber\u00edan entender de una vez que no se trata tanto de combatir a los huelguistas (que est\u00e1n ejerciendo su derecho) sino de abordar el problema de ra\u00edz, y el mejor modo de hacerlo es cambiar la pol\u00edtica ambiental empezando desde hoy mismo. Ya vivas en Espa\u00f1a, Uruguay o Groenlandia, todos tenemos algo en com\u00fan: necesitamos frenar el cambio clim\u00e1tico si no queremos que sea el cambio clim\u00e1tico el que frene nuestro ritmo de vida actual.<\/p>\n

English version:<\/strong> Hi! My name is Teresa and I am the Latino member of the 350 team. It is a pleasure for me to be the first to write on this blog in Spanish. Thanks for reading!<\/p>\n

I would like to mention the crisis that Spain, my home country, is going through because of the thousands of truck drivers who are on strike protesting against the high price of fuel. Roads are blocked, food is running out in the supermarkets and violence is breaking out. As we all know, oil prices are skyrocketing in the entire world and triggering obvious consequences: filling the tank with gas is more and more expensive, taxi fares are going through the roof and so are food prices. When will this stop? Now it is the transportation sector workers who see how their standard of living worsens, but this crisis might easily extend to other sectors. Nobody is free from this global problem.<\/p>\n

And, what can we do to solve it? Obviously, we can not continue like this. The crisis about fuel prices is directly related to climate change and many people (and politicians) seem to forget it. Our political leaders should understand that it is not only about calming the strikers (who are exercising their right) but about facing the heart of the matter, and the best way to do it is changing the existing environmental policies starting today. Whether you live in Spain, Uruguay or Greenland, we all have something in common: we need to stop climate change if we do not want climate change to stop us from having the standard of living that we now enjoy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
