The Climate Vulnerable Forum in Bangladesh concluded yesterday with a declaration that calls for greater action on climate change. Countries like Maldives, Costa Rica, Nepal, Ethiopia and 15 others were part of this forum which aims at creating a powerful collective of voices from the frontline, adapting to climate change and building pressure on the industrialized world to play its part.A couple of days before the conference began, 350.org had collected comments and statements from people across the globe in support of the forum. One of our amazing organizers, Razwan Nabin collected all your comments and delivered them to various ministers attending the forum. Razwan notes that the climate Vulnerable countries are taking action, not only on adaptation but also on mitigation. But the highly polluting countries need to act very soon and reduce their carbon emissions. The Dhaka Declaration reaffirms the urgency of climate change and demands a swift reduction of global emissions to 350 parts per million. 350.org suports the climate vulnerable forum and wishes it all the strength to take a formidable stance at the upcoming conference of parties COP17 in Durban and push industrialized world leaders to act. The forum had its set of powerful quotes from ministers and heads of states and this from the former President of Costa Rica stood out for many, " Vulnerable countries are insulted by the finance default. I call on all countries present to occupy Durban". The following is a message from Mr. Saleemul Huq, an expert on climate change negotiations and one of the main leaders behind the genesis of the CVF. Click here to read more and watch the video.
<thumbnail_url>http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3485/4034635631_f4de07643b.jpg</thumbnail_url></oembed>
