Amidst the excitment and momentum of #occupywallstreet, New Yorkers have yet another event to look forward to in their city. On November 8, 2011 in NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, there will be a previewing of the powerful new film, The Island President, featuring a 350.org International Advisory Council member, climate movement leader, and President of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed.

The film has been a great success at the Telluride Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival thus far, and the upcoming New York Documentary Festival is one of the few chances to view the film until wider release in 2012 and 2013.
