Dr. Wangari Maathai endorses the Global Work Party

sites/all/files/wangari_headshot.jpgWe were very happy this morning to hear from one of the most inspirational women alive today – Nobel Peace Prize Winner Dr. Wangari Maathai. Her thoughtful leadership on environmental and social justice issues in Kenya and around the world has enriched millions of peoples' lives. We are happy to welcome Dr. Maathai on board as a 350 Messenger, and look forward to working with her organization, the Green Belt Movement, to hold thousands of tree plantings around the world this coming Sunday. Here's what she had to say about the Global Work Party:

 

"This 10th of October millions of people around the world are coming together in their local neighbourhoods to take action against climate change-  join me and the Green Belt Movement to plant trees to create a lasting change for us all and future generations through 10:10:10."
